What a magical place. We were there for a wedding and the organization is just on point, professional yet somehow you almost feel like they are part of the family. All events were well orchestrated and the food was devine, something to please everyone.
The Castello is beautiful with vines growing all over the walls, flowers and trees of all sorts naturally groomed, many different spaces and activities including pool table tennis and a pool.
The only down side is the stink bugs, harmless but annoying but part of being in nature.
HIGHLY recommend ❣️

We visited the Castello di Petrata for a wedding. The grounds are beautiful and it's a great location to explore Assisi. Just 15 minutes by cab from the town. Peaceful and secluded!

One of the most amazing places I've ever been. The views, the serenity, the staff, everything is first class at Castello Di Petratra. The pool was clean and refreshing, the food was delicious (I recommend the spaghetti with olive oil and garlic) the drinks were perfect, and the rooms were a delight. We stayed in the Lavande suite out back and it was everything we needed and then some. On top of all that.. the wedding we attended here was a 10/10. If you're in the area I highly recommend getting to this place!

Tutto ottimo. Solo un paio di piccoli appunti: per il prezzo, stanza comoda ma molto piccola; condizionatore senza telecomando, regolabile solo tramite un touch screen posto ad altezza irraggiungibile (è stato necessario salire in equilibrio precario su di uno sgabello per spengerlo).

We recently visited the venue for our son's wedding on September 16th, 2025. If I could give 10 stars, I would. The setting is absolutely spectacular. This is a family owned establishment and the Castle, its' surroundings and the warm welcome were impeccable. Although they orchestrate one wedding after another during the busy wedding season, they made you feel so special and remained highly focused on making sure all your needs were met and that you were comfortable. The rooms in the castle are lovely and filled with antiques. The castle is OLD, so if you are expecting rooms like a high end hotel, then stay at another place. The charm of this place is the history and it is just breathtaking. The grounds are stunning, with gorgeous shrubs and flowers. The entrance where the bride walks down to the hill is dramatic and like no other. The welcome party was incredible. The food at the wedding was 5 star!! This was NOT your typical wedding food; the food was made with love, care, and was exceptional. I could go on and on. The owners were on site and at your disposal from the moment you arrived until you left. They bent over backwards to make sure you were comfortable and that all your needs were met. They run a wedding like a well-oiled machine. We had 110 guests and it was perfect. Also, all of their recommendations for bands, flowers, photography, etc. were wonderful. My son and his bride used the Brit Pops, who were amazing. Thank you to this incredible family owned business who made everyone's day so special. This wedding will be talked about for years to come!

Loved my first visit to Castello di Petrata this Summer. I was photographing James & Steph's wedding and I was really welcomed by the staff. They were really sweet towards my 12 year old Son who the couple had asked to come and be the second photographer for me. I loved the views overlooking Assisi too. I'd be keen to return one day! We had a great stay at the Castello during our friends wedding here. Room was clean and serviced daily. Breakfast buffet includes eggs, yogurt, fruit, and charcuterie. Tip - go to the bar for proper espresso drinks instead of using the machines. Lunch available for additional fee, the salad and pasta were brought to us by the pool which was so convenient. Beautiful grounds with great sunset and views. Communal iron and ironing board available. Pool towels provided. Had onsite pasta making activity in the greenhouse type room which was so fun.

We were attending the Wedding of Sophie and Ian 9th and 10th September. Excellent location; we were warmly welcomed by Giuseppina and Shilla at Reception who were wonderful and looked after us very well.

We had a comfortable bed in our junior suite but the door into the main bedroom creaked a lot so did the floor boards.

Wonderful surroundings. Very old building beautifully kept but be aware that it means you get creaking floor boards and noisy plumbing - all adds to the character!||Receptions staff really helpful - just wished the serving staff smiled occasionaly.

We were there for a small family wedding ( 70 ) and it was simply charming . The views are amazing. Lovely and rural with nearby Assisi a lovely side visit to do

Beautiful venue ideal for a wedding. The three days were perfect in every way, staff efficient, and polite, rooms clean and in keeping with the Castello, outdoor and indoor spaces well though out for a wedding venue and the food was great too

Um lugar maravilhoso. Nosso quarto é muito espaçoso e com uma vista espetacular para a basílica de Francisco de Assis. Quando chegamos a suíte já estava climatizada e tudo pronto para ocupação.
Staff muito atencioso e profissional.
A área no entorno da casa principal oferece muitas opções e é perceptível o cuidado despendido com a manutenção.
Dois dias muito especiais vividos neste paraíso. Parabéns!

Room was ok, but for over €300 a night we feel it was definitely not worth the price. It needs a lot of maintenance and it was very noisy and cramped for a family of 4. We could hear everyone else moving around and using their bathrooms. The bathroom needed updating, dirty grout and verde gris pipes (looks nice but not hygienic) noisy toilets, no hot water when we needed showers, loose pipes, missing toilet chain flush. There was also a really annoying flashing light for the smoke detector which kept me awake at night. Insufficient charging points and the fridge wasn't even plugged in.
The reception staff were friendly and helpful but the serving staff were mostly quite rude. One spilt a drink which we y over our disabled relative and the server neither apologised or attempted to clean it up, we ended up having to sort it and move to another table. The pool was nice though the pool ladder was not properly attached and was dangerous (this resulted in an injury). It was raised to the hotel staff who came to look at it and agreed it didn't look good but nothing was done to fix it the entire time we were there. The whole place is plagued by Wasps, they were all over the food and bothering everyone during drinks. I would have liked to see something to attempt to control this.
The setting is utterly stunning for a wedding and luckily the bride and groom had an amazing time. The food was also lovely but for the price they charge the guests,we expected a more luxurious experience

Just spend 3 days at the most romantic wedding. The staff at Petrata know their weddings. Everything was perfect. The location is wonderful. You don't get a more romantic backdrop for a ceremony than the view over the hills and Assisi. The food is excellent and the service smooth and efficient.||Only negative is in the rooms. Possibly the noisiest aircon we have ever met. And the showers - the water was scarce and at best lukewarm. We had several completely cold showers.||If Petrata get that fixed I definitely would give them 5 stars and recommend the place to friends

This private residence opens a portion of the home to the public and all of its beautiful grounds for exploration. The family and their staff are exceptionally wonderful. They exemplify what it means to be a host. They do not make a single guest feel less important than anyone else. My only comment is that the Receptionist was the only one I felt that needed a bit more warmth to match all the amazing people at Castello di Petrata. I had a wonderful time and the staff made it so easy to have an enjoyable time.

El alojamiento es espectacular, y aunque solamente almorzamos, la comida estaba bastante buena, quizás poca cantidad para los precios que tiene pero muy rica. Recomiendo este alojamiento a todo el mundo y con casi total seguridad que volveremos en alguna otra ocasión. Es un lugar ideal para relajarse y disfrutar de amigos y familia.

fuimos una noche en nuestra luna de miel por Italia. lamentamos no poder quedarnos mas tiempo! el lugar es hermoso, comimos muy bien y disfrutamos mucho de la naturaleza. no pudimos disfrutar de la pileta por la época, pero si estuvimos descansando en los livings de afuera
