This retreat center was next level! As a yoga teacher who leads retreats all over the world, this retreat center is one of a very short list that I plan to return to. From the pre-retreat planning, to the on-site staff, guides, and cooks, everything was on point. The food was delicious and so authentic, the rooms were beautiful, and the area was stunning - literally a short walk to the beautiful coast! When you are facilitating a retreat you need the backend support to run a successful retreat and this center did exactly that and then some! Such a warm and inviting gem in Southern Italy that I plan to continue to return to and lead retreats at for as long as I can. 💓 I can’t wait to return!

Masseria Specula is truly a gem in the heart of Puglia, just five minutes from the Ionian Sea. This property offers everything a retreat host could dream of and more. I brought a group of ten guests, and every single person had a transformational experience here.

The energy of the place, the beautiful weather, and the comfortable rooms created an atmosphere of safety and ease. The property is gated with secure access, ample parking, and is conveniently located near major roads making it simple for everyone to arrive, even independently from Brindisi.

The food was absolutely unforgettable. The kitchen is run by a team of incredible women, serving everything from fresh mozzarella and prosciutto to whole baked fish, fresh pastas, as well as wine and olive oil tastings. Every meal was nourishing, abundant, and prepared with so much love.

The staff were kind, attentive, and accommodating. They speak English, which made communication seamless, and the fact that the entire team was made up of women gave us an added sense of comfort and safety. Laundry service was also available for guests, at a cost, which was an added convenience.

The owner, went above and beyond to support me in planning every detail of the retreat. His care and dedication were truly invaluable. We also had the pleasure of working with the on-site masseuse, whose healing touch left a lasting impression on everyone.

I cannot recommend Masseria Specula enough for retreats, gatherings, or simply a peaceful escape. We had a wonderful, heart-opening time and I am already looking forward to returning next year.

After spending 5 nights recently here for an Art retreat I was blown away with its beauty. From all of the little details in the bedrooms to the grounds it could not of been more perfect. Asana and Carlo were so helpful and nothing was ever too much trouble. Roberta and Desire were amazing when it came to the guided visits and wine tasting. I have never eaten food so amazing and the ladies in the kitchen were always so kind and friendly.
It was thee perfect locating for such a trip and I am so happy to have been able to stay at the masseria. I look forward to coming back again one day :-) thanks Suzanne x

Abbiamo avuto un problema con l’AC in camera, lo staff ha provato in ogni modo a risolvere e si è scusato con noi in modo egregio.
Colazione ottima e con prodotti di qualità.

Se si potesse dare più di 5 stelle lo farei. La masseria é stupenda e si respira una tranquillità assoluta. Le camere (spaziosissime) non sono da meno, letti e cuscini comodissimi.
Il personale é fantastico, hanno fatto attenzione ad ogni nostra richiesta e ci hanno sempre accontentato. La Colazione è ottima con prodotti freschi e fatti in casa, e anche la cena é stata deliziosa. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente al più presto. Grazie ancora!

Esperienza fantastica. La Masseria è autentica e non trasformata ed offre un'atmosfera tranquilla e rilassante. La colazione è eccellente con prodotti locali e freschi come le torte e le marmellate fatta in casa.Il personale cordiale e gentile in particolare un ringraziamento a Gabriella in cucina e Miriam alla reception. In bagno saponi per viso e capelli all'olio di oliva.....il mio voto è 10.

I recently hosted a retreat at Masseria Specula and would rate this a 10/10! Everything was absolutely wonderful!! The staff was fantastic, the rooms were beautiful and I loved the yoga studio space which had everything we needed for our classes. I personally loved that Masseria Specula was in a remote area because it allowed the group to bond and enjoy the space.

The food was delicious and had variety. I liked that there was a coffee, tea water station open 24 hours. I loved that the table was set for each meal it created a beautiful ambiance. There’s a beautiful terrace to watch the sunrise and sunset and a quaint Olive Garden to lounge in.

I would highly recommend Masseria Specula!

I spent a 5 days at Masseria Specula for a yoga content retreat and absolutely loved it. The space is peaceful, beautifully designed, and full of character. It felt tucked away just enough to be quiet and grounding, but still close to the coast for quick trips to the sea. I recently led a yoga & content creation retreat at Masseria Specula, and I’m simply in awe at how smooth and wonderful the entire experience was! Thanks to Carlo and Miriam for facilitating & organizing every detail - they really made it as easy as possible.
The home-cooked vegetarian meals were always delicious and made with love, the excursions were efficiently planned and run, and the property has a beautiful, rustic charm that provided the perfect atmosphere.

Had the most magical time here. It’s such a hidden gem. The rooms are clean, spacious, charming, and super comfortable. One of the cleanest and most beautiful beaches in southern Italy is just a short walk away—and it’s never crowded. The rooftop space is also really special—we did lots of yoga and photoshoots up there. One of our retreat participants even booked her own retreat here during our stay. I can’t wait to go back either.

This venue is a joy to work with and I loved it so much, I've booked my second art retreat there for next fall! Carlo the owner and Miriam who manages the property are absolutely wonderful, kind, honest, and have excellent customer service. I just led my week-long art retreat there and felt like we were all family at the end of it.

The Masseria is located about a 10-minute bike ride from the beach, is surrounded by fields and greenery, and is set up on a hill that makes it shine in the night.

The food is wonderfully cooked by a number of chefs that take turns during the week so no one is over-worked. They were friendly, kind, and also funny! During a pasta-making class, Daniela led us in dancing and singing to Italian classics. They are all gems.

If you are curious about hosting a retreat here or just coming to stay on vacation, don't hesitate. It was a calm and peaceful experience to remember forever.

I’ve hosted my Cheeky Yoga Club retreat here and - speaking from years of experience of hosting retreats around Europe - the service and assistance I received from Specula team was *world class*.

Each room is unique and extremely charming, filled with local art, furniture and objects. There’s no swimming pool, but a beautiful beach and crystal clear sea is just a short walk away (and Masseria offers bikes to shorten the trip).

I also absolutely adore the ethos of sustainability of this place and its Team - they have their heart and mind in the right place, and they genuinely want to do good in the world.

Whether you want to host a retreat here or just come on holidays, don’t think twice.

I led a yoga-wellness retreat at Masseria Specula in October, and I couldn't have had a better experience. From organizing daily activities with the help of the venue to actually hosting my group there, everything went smoothly. The place is huge, with beautiful, spacious rooms: each en-suite but uniquely designed with comfort and privacy in mind, even when sharing. There are private gardens and terraces with sea views perfect for relaxation. Beautiful sandy beaches are just a 15-minute walk away, and the free use of bicycles was a huge plus.

The daily Apulian meals, made with local ingredients, were mouth-watering. The yoga space was fully equipped with high quality mats and props. Additionally, the venue offers a variety of extra activities if you're interested. Their eco-mission is also very impressive. It's a truly spectacular place, thoughtfully and meaningfully created. I hope to be back there soon!

Absolutely blown away by this complete gem of a place. It has been perfectly renovated with all the modern fittings and fixtures for a comfortable stay, without losing the authenticity of this historic site. The husband and wife owners could not have been more welcoming or attentive. Lots of things to do such as having an on-site massage with Claudia who was amazing, or doing soap making with Zarina. The beach next door is perfect for drinking in nature, yoga or jogging. I feel so restored by my weekend break. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we stepped inside the grounds of the Masseria we felt instantly welcomed and entered a wonderful peaceful sanctuary. Our room was beautiful and sympathetically restored, retaining the original character of the Masseria. We loved experiencing the sunrise and sunsets from our private terrace, and we were kept cool by the breeze coming in from the sea.
The stunning beach was just a short walk away, with turquoise clear water.
We had a very warm welcome from the staff who went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Our breakfast consisted of delicious breads, jams, pastries, granola, fruits and amazing coffee.
Also loved what the team are doing with regards to conservation.... the bees, the bat boxes, no plastic and the solar panels to name just a few!
We will be back!
