A Dreamlike Stay in a Former Monastery Near Rome – A Wedding We’ll Never Forget

Choosing this extraordinary former monastery near Rome to celebrate our wedding with close friends and family was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. From the moment we arrived, we were enchanted by its timeless beauty, serenity, and atmosphere of quiet grandeur.

The building itself is full of history and romance, with elegant rooms and breathtaking spaces that feel both intimate and majestic.
The grand salon—where we hosted our wedding dinner—was pure magic, with soaring ceilings, graceful décor, and golden light pouring through arched windows.

Outside, the gardens are a dream: ancient stone walls, olive and fig trees, a towering cypress, and views that stretch toward Rome—glittering at night like a sea of stars. The swing overlooking the valley and the pool, which became a lively hub for guests of all ages, added even more charm and joy.

Our hosts, Annu and Markus, were incredibly thoughtful and supportive—always available and genuinely invested in making our stay perfect.

A heartfelt and really big thank-you goes to the lovely Silvia and her family, who went far beyond catering.
She helped us plan the entire event with creativity, calm, and local expertise—right down to sourcing the most heavenly Millefoglie in the region. Her family and team welcomed us with warmth and care, creating a sense of home and celebration that we’ll never forget.

Our amazing photographer, Klaus, captured it all with stunning professionalism and artistry. Every image is a memory preserved with heart and beauty.

This is more than just a stay—it’s a place of soul, generosity, and unforgettable moments. We arrived as guests and left with full hearts and lifelong memories.

This was one of the best Airbnb experiences myself and our group of 11 have ever had. Markus and his team with Silvia made us feel right at home, they were very responsive and Silvia arrived personally to check us in. The villa is so much better than the pictures and has the most incredible 360 views of local towns and even Rome at night. We had time in the pool, dinners outside and enjoyed the space fully. Markus and Silvia also gave us wonderful local food and outing recommendations and we made use of their dinner and cake service for our friend who was celebrating a birthday. They source everything locally and cook in house, what an authentic experience.

Organizowaliśmy w Willi wesele. Od samego początku Annu i Markus pomagali nam, aby pobyt dla nas i naszych rodzin był jak najbardziej udany. Samego domu i otaczających go widoków nie da się opisać słowami, trzeba zobaczyć to na żywo. Wnętrza willi są przepiękne, klimatyczne, czuć tutaj dobrą energię, która sprawia, że nie chce się wyjeżdżać. Widoki zapierają dech w piersi. Znajdziecie tu wszystko, basen, hamaki, leżaki, dom jest wyposażony we wszystkie potrzebne sprzęty, aby zorganizować imprezę. Nie mogłabym wybrać lepszego miejsca na przyjęcie weselne. Główny salon z łatwością pomieścił 30 osób, głośniki zapewniały świetną muzykę. A sam klimat tego miejsca uczynił imprezę wyjątkową. Jest to bardzo czyste i zadbane miejsce, a z jakimkolwiek pytaniem lub prośbą zawsze mogliśmy liczyć na wsparcie Annu i Markusa. Jest to idealne miejsce na rodzinny pobyt i na pewno wrócimy tutaj ♥️ 5 gwiazdek to za mało!

Se amate il relax e il comfort immersi tra la natura e la storia questo posto é incredibilmente perfetto. È come fare un viaggio tra le nuvole a soli 600 metri di altitudine, una piscina esterna con vista panoramica mozzafiato con a fianco mura antiche dell'epoca romana. La villa che originariamente era un monastero ha una sala grande che accoglie molte persone. L'atmosfera all'interno é magica con volte a crociera, colonne antiche e altri dettagli da apprezzare. Markus persona molto precisa e disponibile ha reso questa villa confortevole con una cucina moderna e con tutte le comodità necessarie...

What a great place. The pictures cannot capture the magnificence of this villa. The energy, the generous spaces, the patio, the salon with it's fireplace, we could not have asked for a better place for my party. Markus and Annu are wonderful hosts and we really enjoyed the hiking tour and getting to know the bee hives of Markus.

An absolutely incredible experience at Villa Sant Angelo. The hosts Markus and Anu are extremely generous, kind, hospitable and knowledgeable about Sant Angelo. There are many small towns in the area to shop or enjoy a coffee. Many great restaurants with delicious Italian food close by as well. Beautiful hiking locations, a swimming pool and stunning views make this place unforgettable. Villa Sant Angelo is truly unforgettable.

Meine Familie und ich verbrachten eine Woche im Dezember in dieser großzügigen Villa. Der große Gewölbesaal ist beeindruckend und lädt ein, gemütlich vor dem offenen Kamin zu sitzen oder ordentlich zu feiern. Wir hatten eine großartige Zeit dort. Die neue Küche ist voll ausgestattet und kann sich sehen lassen, die Zimmer sind komfortabel und einladend. Die Lage der Villa, oben am Hügel mit freiem Blick in alle Himmelsrichtungen ist unglaublich und wenn man am Abend auf Rom hinunterschaut, ist die Romantik perfekt. Antonietta aus dem nahen Dorf Poli kochte für uns an einem Abend ein mehrgängiges Menü. Hausgemachte beste italienische Küche mit Zutaten aus der Region – umwerfend. Ich kann dringend empfehlen, das Abendessen für mindestens einen Abend zu bestellen, wer nicht gerne kocht, am besten gleich mehrmals, um einen Vorgeschmack auf echte italienische Küche zu bekommen.
Unsere Gastgeber Markus und Annu waren freundlich und zuvorkommend und hatten gute Tipps für Restaurants, Weinverkostungen, Wanderungen und Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Gegend. Die Erfahrung verdient 5 volle Sterne.

Our stay at Villa Sant' Angelo was absolutely stunning. We first met with the local contact who gave us a big welcome and guided us to the Villa. He gave us a tour and lots of helpful information about the Villa, its history, the surrounding area and the nearby village of Poli. The Villa itself is just filled with beautiful rooms with the most stunning 360 degree views of the Rome and the surrounding country side. The house is well equipped with a variety of things you will needs such as fan units, mosquito nets over the beds, bug repellents, swimming towels and all sorts. The kitchen is well equipped with everything we would need for cooking for small or large groups. The dinning area and living space is very impressive and we enjoyed many a game and meal there. There's no TV in the building which we really liked! It gave us more time to be outdoors and together. The pool was a great source of joy for us and from the pool you can sit and see Rome and the beautiful sunsets. The grounds around the villa are gorgeous and we enjoyed exploring them and had some fresh figs from one of the trees which was so delicious! We walked in to Poli one day and tasted some of the local treats, coffee and pastries. Thank you, Markus and Annu for a wonderful getaway!
