We've added the picture of the conversation in which we ask for a topper regarding the very uncomfortable bed. Their message to us states this is not available even though their response to his review claims it is. We hope this shows enough about the honesty of this property and will warn others. The fact that the only response we had after our emails is a response to this review says enough for us.
Very sad experience, sad also to post this review since we tried to contact the hotel about it directly but since they don’t reply to our emails we will post the biggest part of our email with our experience here in hopes of a reply. Stayed here Sept. 8 - 13.
Absolutely would not recommend staying here.. this place might have been good 5 years ago but definitely needs an upgrade and hospitality training.
“Good morning,
As fellow hoteliers, we know very well what it takes to create a positive guest experience. Unfortunately, our recent stay at your property fell short in several important ways.
The room itself (Junior suite) left much to be desired:
- The shower knob is broken.
- The heating/air conditioning does not function properly.
- The bed is extremely uncomfortable and truly need to be replaced. This is absolutely not the quality of an hotel bed.
- The room feels outdated: fixtures are loose or broken (both shower and sink taps), there is visible mold in the shower that we could easily remove with just our finger, and overall the maintenance and cleanliness do not meet an acceptable standard.
- The outdoor area around the room appeared neglected and untidy.
We had also mentioned in our reservation that we were celebrating our third wedding anniversary, yet this was never acknowledged. On top of that, we asked where we could dine on the day your restaurant was closed – which happened to be our actual anniversary – but we never received a reply and advice on where to go to celebrate. This lack of communication felt very impersonal, especially considering the special occasion.
We do want to emphasize our compliments to the parents of the owner, who were warm, helpful, and attentive throughout. Their kindness stood out in contrast to the rest of our experience and were actually the only reason we didn’t end our stay early.
On top of all mentioned before there were disturbances during our stay. On the 9th there was a children’s party or event at the property which we had not been informed about. We wanted to rest quietly in our room, but instead had children constantly playing and shouting right outside our room (on both sides) In the end we closed the curtains to block it out, but of course this is not a pleasant situation. We don’t book the most expensive room to have no privacy and kids constantly looking into our room.
Finally, we were kept awake that night until 06:45 am due to severe noise disturbance from neighboring guests – loud music, shouting, and slamming doors. Around 03:00am we even addressed them ourselves since it was absolutely unacceptable but the situation did not improve. The following morning we mentioned this to the parents of the owner, who kindly informed us that those guests would be leaving anyway. While we appreciated their attention, from our own professional perspective we would have personally checked in with affected guests, offered an apology, and perhaps extended a small gesture, even if this nightly disturbance was beyond our direct control.
We had specifically chosen your property because of the many positive reviews, and this was our first holiday in three years due to setting up and running our own hotel. We were truly looking forward to starting our vacation and anniversary in peace and relaxation, which unfortunately was not the case. We are now writing this message after having continued our journey and staying at several other locations – some of them less expensive – where the hospitality and guest care were on a completely different level. This made us realize even more our experience at your place was way below an acceptable level.”

Dear Fenna, we’re sorry your stay did not meet expectations, especially on an anniversary. After thorough checks of our technical logs, housekeeping records, and front‑desk notes, several points do not align with our findings, so we’re sharing the facts transparently.
We did not receive any email from you before, during, or after the stay; our direct channels (phone and front desk) are always available for real‑time assistance. The restaurant’s weekly closing day is communicated in advance, and reception was on duty with a list of recommended restaurants and booking support; we have no record of an unanswered request on this point.
Air conditioning: the system works correctly and is adjustable, but window sensors switch cooling off when windows are open to avoid waste and emissions, so air‑conditioning with windows wide open is not supported. Given the humid nights (15–16 °C outside), the room was set to about 23 °C on arrival for comfort and in line with regulations.
Bathroom and fittings: we run scheduled maintenance with licensed technicians. Post‑stay inspection of the Junior Suite found no broken shower knobs or taps; fixings were re‑tightened as a precaution. The room furnishings are custom‑made to a modern design specification.
Cleaning and hygiene: rooms are serviced by an external team with sanitation protocols, including regular anti‑limescale/anti‑mold treatments. Between stays we also perform ozone treatments. Our reports do not show mold in that shower; we nevertheless repeated the preventive treatment after your comment.
Bed and comfort: we use Simmons bases and mattresses for high hotel standards. In the morning the bed was in order; later in the day you reported “something wrong.” We found a broken slat and replaced it promptly the following morning via maintenance. Extra towels were provided on request, not as a fix for the mattress. Toppers are available on request.
Outdoor areas: the 5,000 m² garden, integral to the restaurant, is maintained weekly by gardeners and tidied daily by staff. Leaving it in disarray would directly impact our dining service; inspections did not note disorder during your dates.
Children’s event on 9/9: it ran from 16:00 to 21:00 in the main garden’s play area during restaurant opening hours, monitored by staff and bounded to avoid the room frontage. We’re sorry if sound reached your room during those hours.
Night disturbance: nearby guests received the news of their father’s passing that night; the understandable commotion regrettably caused disturbance. The reason was explained to you the following morning. No call reached our night duty number; had we been contacted, we would have intervened per our quiet‑hours policy. We’re truly sorry for the lost rest.
Anniversary: optional services (flowers in room, champagne with fruit, customized tastings) can be added at booking; none were selected on your reservation. When guests want a surprise or special setup, our team is happy to arrange it ahead of time.
At check‑out we asked whether everything had been satisfactory; none of the issues listed here were raised at that time. We are a family‑run property: the people referred to as “parents” are the owners, and the care you recognized at breakfast and in the restaurant reflects our hospitality philosophy.

Bien que la localisation de cet hôtel, Restaurant n’est rien d’extraordinaire, la table, elle par contre est tout à fait superbe. Le déjeuner dans le jardin est parfaitement agréable, le service d’une extrême gentillesse.
Mais c’est surtout dans les assiettes que le génie du chef s’exprime. Tous les plats sont une rare délicatesse et d’une construction sophistiqué pour un prix très raisonnable.
Si vous voulez sortir un peu des plastiques, restaurant de pâtes de l’intérieur de Pise, c’est là qu’il faut aller !
Merveilleux hôtel, isolé et au calme.
Les chambres sont magnifiques.
Il y a des jeux pour les enfants dans le parc.
Les animaux sont les bienvenus.

Wir waren drei Nächte dort. Das Hotel ist ideal gelegen um von dort Pisa oder Lucca zu erreichen. Sehr ruhig trotz nähe zur Hauptstrasse. Das Essen ist Gourmet mässig. Für einen Abend Ok. Es hat aber sehr gute alternativen in der nahen Umgebung. Zimmer sehr schön und der Service freundlich. Nur wenn etwas zu Trinken bestellt werden möchte am Nachmittag ist der Service nicht so aufmerksam.
Alles in allem sehr zu Empfehlen.
My room was just fine with functioning air conditioning. This place is really about the food though which is outstanding. Everything I had at both dinner and breakfast was excellent and it’s well worth including in an Italian road trip.
Locanda Sant' Agata è un piccolo angolo di Paradiso. Potrei partire dalle camere ben curate, potrei continuare con la pulizia e l'ordine ma non è questo ciò che eleva questo hotel a oasi di pace. La conduzione familiare dell hotel è la ciliegina sulla torta. Dal primo momento ci siamo sentiti coccolati e a casa e ciò non è per nulla semplice. Le persone sono meravigliose ma tra tutti emerge per distacco un impiegato modello, instancabile e sempre di buon umore che ha avuto la forza di strapparci tanti sorrisi e tanti bei momenti. Caro Gerry, sei mitico.||Nota di merito particolare per la cucina, meravigliosa. Gusti raffinati e piatti di una bellezza unica. ||Non possiamo che consigliare questo luogo a tutti.
Un très bel endroit , un jardin très agréable, une chambre confortable et des hôtes très gentils. Proche de Pise et de Lucques ( coup de cœur pour cette dernière ville à visiter ) La chambre est un peu fade, elle mériterait un peu de décoration, et de couleurs : un tableau, un miroir. La salle de bain un peu petite, un miroir ds la chambre serait nécessaire pour se préparer à deux. Nous n’avons pas testé le restaurant mais le Petit déjeuner était très bien et copieux.
Trato exquisito, gran amabilidad, buena cocina, entorno muy agradable.

Hemos tenido la posibilidad de hospedarnos en grandes hoteles de lujo, pero cómo este hotel nunca. El hospedaje Sant’Agata es simplemente MARAVILLOSO, nos ha dejado sin palabras. Desde el inicio hasta el final, hemos sido recibidos por sus dueños, quienes han hecho de nuestra estadía un memorable recuerdo. Nos han hecho sentir como en casa. Son personas muy gentiles y trabajadoras.
La “stanza bianca” es bellísima, con una vista al hermoso jardín y a los girasoles.
También hemos comido el riquísimo y abundante desayuno cada mañana en el hotel. Así como también hemos cenado. La cena en el ristorante es de alta calidad. Tanto la comida como sus tragos (realizados con su propia producción).

Teniendo en cuenta el precio del mismo el alojamiento ha sido bueno. Aunque el servicio fue un poco seco, y con mucho desorden en la recepción (hasta tenían 2 perros dentro de la recepción del hotel) la habitación está muy limpia y bastante equipada. Hasta tenían televisión por satélite.. Pudimos ver algunos canales en español. Por fin una ducha en condiciones!! Con abundante presión de agua y muy caliente (lo necesitábamos)... El desayuno bastante pobre (buenos productos pero excasa variedad)
Lugar encantador con unos jardines i una tranquilidad , muy recomendable , personal muy atento i simpatic@s comida excelente una pasta buenísima , hemos comido unos raviolis de carne i otro de verduras ( pruébalos ) amas si quieres hacen bodas i comidas de empresa ya no os puedo decir nada más probarlo|
Estuvimos pasando una noche. Está muy cerca de Pisa, con unos jardines enormes alrededor. La habitación amplia, cómoda y limpia. El chico que nos atendió en recepción fue muy majo ayudándonos con las maletas. La única pega fue en el desayuno, el zumo tenía mal sabor, quizá fue un descuido |Volveríamos encantados
La habitación que nos dieron lejos de las de las fotos, el baño la chufa sujeta con cinta aislante de electricista y desconchones de humedad, el aire acondicionado hacia un ruido del demonio.... ademas solo dan desayuno dicen de cena pero no va nadie nunca así que así será.....
Este ha sido la única decepción de nuestro viaje a Italia, personal nada atento y más bien arisco, habitaciones ruidosas(no hay quien duerma con ese aire acondicionado atronador) y no se parecen en nada a las fotos de la web, desayuno pobre y desatendido, la luz de la habitación de mis padres se apagaba sola y para colmo no hay absolutamente nada en las inmediaciones.
Hotel bien ubicado para visitar Pisa ( a unos 4 kms) y Lucca ( a unos 15 kms), habitaciones de tamaño correcto con buena limpieza, cama cómoda y grande; desayuno bueno y variado. Poco cuidado de las instalaciones, muchos "trastos" dispersos por recepción y en la zona del restaurante que le dan un aspecto un poco dejado; poca atencion también a los desperfectos de las habitaciones ( faltaban bombillas en el baño y se salía el agua del desagüe del lavabo). El jardin es agradable y el paisaje tambíen, aunque no es para nada el mejor de la Toscana, carretera transitada demasiado cercana con ruido de coches y de los aviones que despegan del aeropuerto de Pisa. En resumen la relación calidad-precio es buena pero no repetiría.
Decidimos instalarnos en este establecimiento durante unos días, para poder visitar la toscana, Pisa, Lucca y alrededores y la verdad es que estuvimos muy a gusto. Las habitaciones muy limpias y bastante amplias, lastima de las duchas un tanto estrechas y engorrosas de utilizar. Los desayunos muy exquisitos y la carta espectacular, aunque si hubiera podido desayunar en su magnifico jardín plagado de mesas y sillas, sofás y tumbonas a la sombra de pergolas y olivos hubiera sido magnifico. La tv no hace falta ni encenderla...trescientos canales en italiano mínimo y ninguno que valga perder el tiempo de contemplar. Un buen lugar tranquilo, para comer bien, descansar y leer un buen libro entre otras cosas.
Nunca había vivido la experiencia de una Locanda, y ha sido genial. Locanda Sant'Agata está situada en un entorno maravilloso, el establecimiento es genial y perfectamente ubicado. A 10 minutos de Pisa y de la famosa torre, y en dirección a Lucca (también indispensable visitarlo).||En Locanda Sant'Agata el entorno, la decoración, las habitaciones, el restaurante ... está todo perfectamente pensado y adecuado para pasar una genial estancia.||Recomiendo pasar unas horas tomando un refresco en su jardín, sintiendo el fresco de la zona, así como hacer una comida en el restaurante de la Locanda. La cocina es exquisita, muy buena y de elevado nivel.||En definitiva, si pasáis por Pisa y buscáis algo diferente al hotel convencional os lo recomiendo.
Después de varios dias por Italia hospedados en hoteles urbanos decidimos evadirnos un poco en un hotel más tranquilo. Nos guiamos por el consejo de un amigo y verdaderamente un acierto.||Habitación confortable, servicio espléndido y cocina y entorno maravilloso. Está a 3 km de Pisa, en medio del campo, chulísimiiy tranquilo. El hotel alberga además un restaurante de un nivel formidable y una relación calidad precio genial con productos típicos de la zona.||Un lugar para volver sin duda.
Lo recomiendo sinceramente. Es un hotel regentado por una familia muy, muy amable que hace que te sientas como en casa. Muy bien situado cerca de Pisa y Lucca. Muy agradable su cuidado jardín y os recomiendo el restaurante con una buenísima relación calidad-precio. Merece la pena la media pensión.||Aparcamiento y wifi gratuitos.
