We booked with Francesca after reading a few glowing reviews online, and from our very first consultation we were sold. The entire process was seamless, stress-free, and handled with the utmost professionalism.

As Canadians planning a wedding in Tuscany, we were initially unsure how complicated the process might be. Francesca immediately put our minds at ease. She guided us through every step, from preparing and sending the required documents ahead of time to ensuring everything was certified properly before our wedding day. What could have been overwhelming was made incredibly straightforward thanks to her knowledge and guidance.

Beyond the legal side, Francesca coordinated every detail of our special day. She arranged the venue, photographer, hair stylist, flowers, and transportation, while also providing us with wonderful restaurant recommendations to round out the experience. Throughout the entire process, she kept in constant communication, answering our questions promptly and always providing thoughtful solutions. It was clear from the beginning that she is highly experienced, organized, and passionate about what she does.

On the wedding day itself, Francesca and her team were simply outstanding. Everything flowed perfectly, and we were able to be fully present and enjoy the moment knowing that every detail was being looked after. Over a year of communicating with Francesca had been fine, she was quick to respond and put together a lovely ceremony and was perfectly pleasant. We agreed on date, time, & location. Day of, I receive an email from her saying that she hopes the ceremony isn't outside because she doesn't feel well and that would be a problem. I tell her that it is outside and it's a bit chilly since it's early morning and had been raining but is not supposed to during the ceremony and yes it is outside, she replies that I can't ask someone to get sick because my venue doesn't have a plan B, I tell her I don't have a venue at all, me and my fiancé came from America and are staying at an airbnb (included in the contract is that the wedding location is an airbnb) that is located on pretty land with an amazing view and we had gotten permission to hold the ceremony there, I also tell her that in our signed contract it states that if she cannot do the ceremony for whatever circumstances a backup would be sent and I suggested that she send someone else since she is sick. She did not respond to my last email so I was unsure if she would show up or not. She does and she immediately looks disagreeable. I ask her if we are doing it outside and she agrees but does not look happy about it. She was flustered the entire time, not happy, and made snide comments about the weather. It did start sprinkling towards the end of the ceremony and I felt like I had to rush through the end because she couldn't handle it or would get mad. Then when we were done and signing paperwork she got our marriage certificate wrong and put my name twice, so the paperwork we all signed in Italy the day of our wedding was wrong. She mailed it to us a few weeks later, but when I opened the package the paper was bent in two places.

My ceremony was the worst part of my trip, and she was the rudest person I encountered during the 2 weeks I was there. This entire situation to me was totally unacceptable. She signed a contract and we both agreed on date, time and location. She knew it was an early May morning- spring in Italy. It was not freezing, it was maybe 55F, and had been drizzling. Plan B weather would be a storm. I assume she didn't send someone else to do the ceremony because she wanted the entirety of the 750 euros she charges for a 15 minute ceremony that she coughed during. My fiancé and photographer can attest to the honesty of this review and I will also attach screenshots of our email conversation. I'm sure nothing will come of this, definitely no refund or an apology. Although nothing can undo ruining someone's wedding.

Update:
The reply from Efffetti says that Francesca doesn’t work for them, however, if you reference my emails, her email signature literally says Efffetti weddings under it. In other reviews for Efffetti, Francesca is mentioned and can be seen replying to them. And you can see from my emails below that Francesca’s email LITERALLY also says Efffetti. I mean get real people, she is literally on their website as an officiant, Francesca F. and her info is everywhere? Seems like this company loves dishonesty. They have been trying to take down my review since I posted it on google and also on wedding wire.

Disappointing Experience from Start to Finish

One of the greatest reliefs on our wedding day was knowing we would never work with Francina again. If you’re looking for a planner who manages details with care and secures the best vendor deals, Efffetti isn't the right choice. Our experience was filled with frustrations and unmet expectations.

From the start, it was clear Francina was not committed to a smooth planning process. When venues were booking quickly, we had to chase her for options. When we provided feedback, she often responded defensively, blaming suppliers instead of resolving issues. We felt unheard and unsupported.

Despite our requests for more supplier options, she provided only one choice. We organised manye key elements ourselves, including transport and stationery, because she failed to offer adequate solutions. For example, she quoted €1,200 for transportation, but we found a reliable service for €650, and she became defensive about it.

Francina frequently forgot details and sent incorrect contracts. During our tasting, she claimed to take notes but never shared them. She struggled to manage details effectively, using both email and WhatsApp, which made tracking information difficult. Her frequent mistakes required us to create a Google Doc to consolidate everything.

One of the most upsetting parts was her insensitivity toward family matters. She sent notes with placeholders like “Father-Bride Dance”, "father walks bride down the aisle". When I asked her to stop, since my father is no longer with us, she dismissed it, saying, “It’s just a template" "its only planning”.This was deeply hurtful.
On the wedding day, she made another mistake by asking the groom’s mom, “Where’s the groom’s dad?” just minutes before she walked her son to the altar, leaving her upset at a crucial moment. (He's also no longer with us).

We quickly realised we were overpaying for many services. For instance, she quoted €2 per sparkler (it’s €9 for a pack of 30 on Amazon), insisted Etsy was more expensive for stationery (we saved 70% with a UK provider), and quoted €1,200 for transport while we found a service for €650. We don’t mind paying a fair price, but these discrepancies were outrageous.

Her performance fell short on the wedding day. I paid €150 for a makeup trial in Italy and was assured the same artist would be available, but someone else showed up who had no idea what I wanted.
During the ceremony, she didn’t recognise key people, arguing with my mother and failing to identify my son, who was supposed to walk with me. At the end of the ceremony, she mistakenly announced, "Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. [Groom's Last Name]," despite having a detailed document outlining what to say. This caused confusion as many guests assumed I had taken my husband’s last name, putting me in an awkward position.

She was barely present to manage the timeline; we often relied on the photographer for guidance on key moments. Smaller tasks were mishandled, including the timing of speeches.

Issues extended to the vendors she sourced. The DJ, who was supposed to play as long as we wanted at an extra fee, told us at 1 a.m. that he was tired and didn’t play many of our requested songs.

For the €6,500 we paid, Efffetti provided minimal services: only 4 vendors (venue, florist, wrong makeup artist, and DJ) and officiated the ceremony. There was a lack of support in planning; most ideas came from our photographer.

We organised guest transport, stationery, musicians and more ourselves. The only positive aspect of Efffetti's service was the florist, who created beautiful arrangements.

In summary, Francina was very difficult to work with. Despite our attempts to provide feedback, her lack of professionalism and insensitivity were disappointing. We hope our experience will help future couples make informed decisions. If you are looking for a planner who will advocate for you and manage details effectively, we recommend looking elsewhere. We are relieved this experience is behind us and would never recommend her services.

Easy and smooth process, start to finish!

A huge thank you to Francesca for making our elopement dreams come true! We were initially hesitant when deciding if we wanted a civil or symbolic wedding in Italy, because we heard about all this scary and lengthy paperwork. We scheduled a call with Francesca just to learn more about the process, and to see if a civil wedding in Italy would even be feasible during our 2 week Italy trip. We had no idea where to start, but Francesca was very informative and walked us through the necessary paperwork to be done in Canada, timeline, and made helpful suggestions for cities and towns that met our criteria. She also sent us photos and pricing of the venues we were interested in. We were fairly certain we wanted to proceed with the civil wedding in Italy after speaking with Francesca, as she answered all of our questions and dispelled a lot of uncertainties. Honestly, the paperwork wasn't so scary either. Just make sure you allow enough time to get all your documents in order (Francesca even sent us a reminder email!), and it will be no problem.

We felt Efffetti was extremely professional and not pushy at all. We had spoken to other companies, ranging from people hounding us every few days for a response, to people flat out rejecting us as clients because all we wanted was a simple town hall ceremony with no other guests present. We also thought the pricing was quite reasonable (we had gotten several quotes from other vendors). In our package, translator/witnesses was included, as well as all the document legalization for the marriage certificates. It was such a relief to know that all these things were already included in our package, without any hidden or additional fees!

Francesca always responded to us in a timely manner, even during the busy wedding season. On the day of the wedding, I was so nervous about the pre-wedding meeting and having all our paperwork in order, but it was such a smooth and easy process. Even the town hall staff spoke highly of Francesca and knew she was always prepared!

If you're thinking about eloping in Tuscany, we highly recommend Efffetti. Our wedding was everything we hoped for, and MORE! (I mean, who can say they ate at a Michelin star dinner on their wedding night?!) I am also really glad we ended up doing a civil wedding instead of only a symbolic wedding. It was so fun to be "officially" married to my best friend on our trip. Thank you Francesca for everything!!

The reviews are all true for the Efffetti Wedding Planning Team. I cannot say enough about how easy the team made this process for us, and how great it was to work with this company.

Francesca did a fantastic job for us throughout the wedding planning process. As two Canadians hoping to elope in Siena, Francesca did an excellent job communicating deadlines to us, meeting deadlines, and checked in with us throughout the process to see if we required any help with the application process.

Once in Siena, Francesca was prompt, on time, and was able to translate everything to us when we needed to meet with the Siena City Hall staff. I was impressed that a majority of the staff all knew her and were extremely friendly towards her. She was extremely professional throughout the entire process, and a joy to talk to. Francesca went out of her way, to even speak with our photographers from out of town on where the best places were in Siena to take photographs.

Every deadline was met, and we had such a wonderful experience with Efffetti Wedding Planning Team. I would most definitely recommend their services if you were planning on eloping in Italy, Siena - without a doubt.

I have sat for quite a while thinking how best to write this review in a way that adequately reflects both my gratitude towards Francesca and her indefatigueable professionalism at what she does. I have come to the conclusion that it's simply impossible to put into words just how much she has meant to our peace of mind concerning our wedding taking place on schedule. But I'm determined to give it a go anyway.

I'm Northern Irish and my bride-to-be is German, a proper paperwork conundrum for the local authorities in Italy.

I got in touch with Francesca after it transpired we needed a translation, the latest in a seemingly neverending list of new and ever more nerve-wrecking requirements. She asked for our documents, quickly ascertained that the required translation wasn't necessary and within 24 hours had solved all our problems. She could quite easily have taken the translation job and said nothing but she is an absolute dream of a person and set about righting all the bureaucratic wrongs.

Francesca was quite simply our machete in the jungle that is Italian bureaucracy.

I simply cannot thank her enough. It's annoying I can't give her 10 from a possible 5 stars.

She's worth every single penny you decide to invest in her. In fact, she's been nothing short of priceless to us in terms of maintaining our sanity and allowing us to finally look forward to our wedding day.

Francesca and her team have been the most exceptional wedding planners. The lead up to the wedding was seamless and stress free.
We gave a few challenges to Francesca along the way but no was never an answer. Nothing was too much of a challenge or an effort for her. Francesca was a lifesaver. We planned to get married just before Covid hit. We had to rearrange our wedding tiwce due to the Pandemic. She took all the stress from us reorganized the contracts with our location and the vendors and kept us up to date with everything.
