Planning our dream wedding in Italy from Florida felt overwhelming—until we hired Simonetta. She was a lifesaver. Incredibly detailed, transparent about costs and timelines, and always realistic (no fairy-tale fluff, just smart, honest guidance).
She anticipated every challenge: permits, vendors, travel logistics, and especially the weather. I initially didn’t care about indoor options (I loved the open-air venues!), but she gently insisted on Plan B—and thank goodness. She went above and beyond by helping us ship decorations and personal items from the U.S. to Italy—things we couldn’t carry on the plane. She stored everything at her home for months, kept it safe, and had it ready for setup. That kind of trust and extra effort made travel so much lighter and stress-free.
Also I can’t believe I’m leaving this for last because it’s the main reason we chose Simonetta in the first place but she made getting married in a Catholic Church so easy. I was nervous because the rules and guidelines are very different from the USA but she made it all so easy and was very efficient in finding churches for us to choose from and also a priest that spoke 3 languages who came all the way from Rome to Tuscany just for the ceremony!

Our wedding was flawless because of her foresight, calm expertise, and genuine care. If you’re planning from afar (or just want zero surprises), hire her. You won’t regret it!

Simonetta is everything that you could ever ask for in a wedding planner and more. We are a couple living abroad and we planned a destination wedding in Italy. Initially, we were only planning the usual ceremony with reception done in 1 day. However, since all of our guests were flying to Italy from different countries, we converted the event into a 3-day affair with activities planned for all the days. Simonetta did everything for us. She organized a wine tasting, medieval town tours, lunches, dinners, a vespa tour, and arranged transportation for us and our guests. And of course the wedding day was organized perfectly up to the most minute details. She even found the most beautiful castle for us as venue for the wedding. Simonetta has a very refined taste and it shows in the choices of the wedding suppliers and the activities that she recommended to us.

We only met Simonetta once in person before the wedding and most of the planning was done over emails, messages and calls. She was very organized and attended to all the details but we never felt overwhelmed with all the things that we had to do or decide on.

Simonetta surely made our Italy wedding experience wonderful and amazing!

Me and my husband always wanted to have a symbolic wedding ceremony in Italy and, finally, this year the stars have aligned, and it happened!!
What a wonderful, beautiful, magical wedding we had!

We’ve met Simonetta for the first time back in 2016 when a couple of our best friends had their wedding ceremony in Tuscany. Everything back then looked very romantic and intimate, so as we looked around and interviewed wedding planners, she was already on top of the list.
And we couldn’t be happier with our choice!! 😊

We live in New York. We were very late in planning an international wedding. We started talking about having one in December and signed a contract with Simonetta in January. Our wedding was set for the beginning of August, so the timing was very-very tight. However, knowing all the potential issues with such limited time frame to plan a wedding, the shortage of available venues and vendors at this point, Simonetta took on the project and did a marvelous job!

Everything was exceptional: the venue, the florals, the catering, the video and photo teams! The ceremony was smooth, and everything was just so beautiful and excellent. Like, honestly, couldn’t be any better!!!

I have to say, the communication with her was excellent! She was always on top of everything and replied within a day with long emails, always full of helpful information and suggestions which helped us a lot to make right choices and decisions.
We were very demanding but, also, tried not to go crazy with spending money. As a result, we had a champagne wedding on a prosecco budget! 😊 and that’s just because how good Simonetta was with finding right vendors always trying to negotiate a better deal for us.

I must admit, there were times when Simonetta tried to talk us out of something but, once she understood that it was important to us, she went cross rivers and mountains to make it happen.

We are so grateful to Simonetta for creating and executing such a beautiful experience with memories that will last forever!

There are no boarders or oceans between you and your fairytale Italian wedding if you have Simonetta to help you plan it! 😊

Thanks to Simonetta and her whole team we had such an amazing time and it went more smoothly than we could have imagined. Last year in September we got married in Umbria, Italy and we are so grateful for having chosen Simonetta as our wedding planner! We are a couple from the Netherlands and thus needed a wedding planner that was based in Italy to organize a lot of the wedding there. She visited several locations for us in a wide range in Italy and gave us very valuable insights. I cannot recommend her enough, especially if you are a couple from abroad.

The day itself was quite literally perfect with no mishap and no stress for both of us. We could spend the entire day with our family and friends without worry. The vendors Simonetta helped us pick were all professional and did their part perfectly as well.

Our wedding summarized: small wedding held on an estate which we rented for 3 nights, with full private access to the grounds, included all of the meals at the villa and some activities on the day before and after the wedding day. Activities included massages and a wine tasting.

It was a wedding weekend to remember!

I’m doing this review because I truly wish NO future couple has to ever go through what we went through with Simonetta Pollera (Intimate Italian Weddings) and Dani from DAMA Weddings.
We got married last month in Tuscany area, in Montepulciano, and 8 months ago when looking for a planner we came across DAMA weddings. Danila the manager said she would be the planner and assigned Simonetta as the day coordinator. She said she was “very recommended, and lives in Tuscany”. Well ... the planning process were the most stressful 6 months of my life, looking back, if only we had chosen a different company, we would have happier "wedding" memories. Simonetta made it impossible to choose vendors we wanted (even photography and makeup! which are very dependent on the bride’s style, she got mad because we chose our own) … every time we proposed a vendor she would say "it's not my responsibility", because we were not choosing her expensive options, and even at one point in January 3 months before the wedding, she quit because she felt “we didn’t trust her, wanting to choose other vendors and not progressing on the selection” - yes, we were slow, but EVERY vendor we chose had availability - and at this point we had to ask her to stay with us on her conditions (including more money). Looking back this was the worst decision made.
Every slight change we wanted (with enough time in advance), she would make it impossible to do, so we had to contact some of her vendors directly as well -drivers for the guests, and chairs and tables, for instance- because her first answer was always “no” and “impossible”. We started to become scared about asking her things, and had many sleepless nights because of this.
2 weeks before the wedding she insisted we had to get a tent because of the rain (20% probability!!) and that we had to choose HER vendor (€8,000 plus tax for a very simple tent), which of course we didn’t want, and we waited one more week to see a more accurate weather forecast. In the meantime, she took measurements of the venue area and sent us the contract to sign with her vendor -which we signed and sent through WhatsApp but quickly deleted seconds later because we were NOT OK with the price, and I have proof of this- and we got a better vendor, very professional, at €1,500 euros. After this, her attitude became even worse, she demanded we pay a “fine” of €800 euros to her vendor for the work of “taking measurements”??… Keep in mind this was all in THE wedding week, so we were very stressed she would just decide not to help us on the wedding day.
Also, 10 more guests confirmed us 2 weeks before the wedding, and Simonetta became crazy about this. On the wedding week, she even called and threatened my husband telling him “it’s your fault if the wedding doesn’t work out, for me, I don’t care”. She knew we wanted the wedding to work out so she took it to her advantage and gave us the price increases she wanted… but for the vendors I had direct contact with (that I had chosen), ALL of them were OK with the 10 extra people (and without extra cost).
Our vendors were very concerned with Simonetta, more than 2 of them told me she was “out of her mind”, and “had severe nerve problems”, so believe me when I write all of this, as I’m a very easy going person and rarely have conflicts with people helping me out.
So, if you’re about to plan your wedding and/or are currently planning it, I will HAPPILY recommend the vendors that were more than amazing and helped the wedding work out at the end, and am also warning you if you’re currently working with DAMA or Simonetta Pollera to change ASAP.
By the way: the weather ended up being wonderful! And amazing Nencioni helped us with sun umbrellas because the sun was SO strong 😅 (btw Simonetta was against this, she said it would rain and that sun wasn’t that strong in the area, so we had to make it secretly haha and she just arrived to see the umbrellas on the wedding day. Without the umbrellas, people would've melted, it was so hot in the afternoon!!!)

Words do note adequately express my gratitude for Simonetta. For the last 10 months, she has been working tirelessly to meet (and exceed) all of our expectations. My husband and I live in New York City, and when we were interviewing wedding planners in Italy, Simonetta was head-and-shoulders above the rest.

I am a difficult and extremely demanding customer, and Simonetta was polite, professional and hard-working every step of the way. From the outset, we wanted a wedding of about 50 people (all from the US) to join us in Umbria for a magical 3 days. Simonetta had all the right connections, the best vendors, the most sound advice, and was a consummate professional.

Between complex demands, tight budgets, and a rainy forecast, Simonetta was able to roll with the punches and lead a phenomenal team to make the wedding of our dreams come true. Especially complex as we were not able to get to Italy before the wedding. She did it all!

On the day of the wedding, I had not a worry in the world. Simonetta and her team took care of every little detail, and allowed me the space to just enjoy the most magical day of my life.

Simonetta's experience and determination made it all possible. We would not have been able to do it--not even close--without her. Cannot recommend her enough. Simonetta, you are a godsend. THANK YOU!
