We couldn’t recommend it highly enough! We had an exquisite dining experience and chose the 7 course tasting menu.
All of the food is locally grown and there was so much care put into each dish. The chef has curated the tasting menu to our choice of wine and we were able to ask for more fish/meat depending on the wine.
The view was absolutely gorgeous as it looks out over all sorrento as the restaurant is situated in the hills.
All the waiters and waitresses were incredibly attentive and welcoming.
Overall, it was a once in a lifetime meal at the most scenic and serene spot I’ve ever been.
You cannot miss this if you are able to go there.
We are very grateful to everyone who was involved in the creation of our experience there.

Abbiamo deciso di festeggiare la Comunione di mio figlio in questa splendida Location conosciuta quasi per caso. Devo dire che è stata un ottima scelta, perché Agostino insieme alla madre, allo Chef e tutto lo staff hanno fatto davvero un lavoro ottimo, facendoci sentire veramente a casa.
Ogni piatto era un esplosione di sapore, gusti mai provati prima, dall'antipasto al dessert.
C'è anche una cantina, dove chi è amante, può trovare una selezione dei migliori Vini provenienti da tutto il mondo.
Bella la terrazza, come anche lo spazio esterno che ci hanno fatto utilizzare per posizionare dei gonfiabili.
Torneremo sicuramente per una cena più tranquilla, in questo posto fantastico!

I even learned the family that owns it has the same last name as I do (we are not related and I didn't know any of this before we made the reservation, but since my name is probably visible in this review I figured I should make it clear this isn't a fake review).

A ride from and back to our downtown Sorrento hotel was included with the dinner.

We had an outstanding dinner at Ortiga. The host was incredibly attentive, personally showing us around the premises before we enjoyed a wonderful aperitif on the beautiful terrace. We opted for the menu of the day, which was excellent. The kitchen impressed us with great, creative compositions – the watermelon tuna sashimi, for example, was particularly inventive! Every dish was also beautifully presented. The wine pairing was perfectly matched to the food as well. We can unreservedly recommend this restaurant!

Mein Besuch im Ortiga war ein rundum gelungenes Erlebnis. Besonders beeindruckt hat mich der äußerst professionelle und aufmerksame Service. Das Team war stets präsent, ohne aufdringlich zu wirken, und hat mit einer natürlichen Herzlichkeit dafür gesorgt, dass es uns an nichts fehlte.

Die Küche war ebenso überzeugend: Die Gerichte waren kreativ, geschmacklich hervorragend abgestimmt und von hoher Qualität.

Das Ambiente des Restaurants strahlt eine angenehme Eleganz aus, die den perfekten Rahmen für einen entspannten Abend bietet. Insgesamt ein Ort, den ich absolut weiterempfehlen kann – hier trifft Professionalität auf Gastfreundschaft und Genuss. Vielen Dank, wir kommen wieder.

Tonight, we had the pleasure of dining at a charming family-run restaurant in Sorrento, which has been beautifully renovated. Being collected by a member of staff in a car and transfered to and from our hotel directly to the restaurant. The meal was absolutely exquisite, and my wife and I were spoiled for choice with a menu full of tempting dishes. We opted to share several plates, thoughtfully divided by the chef, allowing us to savor each bite together. Every ingredient was sourced from the family's own 30-hectare farm, lovingly maintained through three generations.

To cap off our wonderful evening, we enjoyed a house-made limoncello while chatting with the mamma Rita on the balcony overlooking the enchanting Sorrento coast's night lights. She welcomed us with open arms, sharing stories about the home’s history and her delightful children who help run the restaurant. We truly felt like part of the family, making this night one to remember.

Ein der wunderschönsten Plätze ein bisschen ausserhalb Sorrentos. Hier passt wirklich alles-der Empfang unglaublich familiär, zuvorkommend und hilfsbereit. Ein großartiges Service in der Champagnerbar und anschließend im Restaurant.
Besonders charmant: es wird viel Gemüse selbst angebaut und es gibt ein Menü: „from Farm to table“ - alles aus dem eigenen Garten.
Familiengeführt mit tollen Mitarbeitern. Absolut 5 Sterne verdient! Wir kommen sicher wieder❤️

The restaurant is located within the Gargiulo Resort. This property is a working farm that supplies the restaurant. Direct Farm-to-table service, the olive oil & balsamic Vinaigrette is locally grown, produced and bottled by the family. This property was the family home for decades that has been fully renovated 2yrs ago into a full service resort.
The view is spectacular, the food is sublime, the service unparalleled in its attention and the staff attentive. GM is onsite for service every evening.
The wine selection includes some of the most rare and exquisite wines in all Italy. There is a family table in the wine cellar!
The champagne bar is made of a locally sourced Italian single-piece marble…! All the construction materials for the restaurant have been locally & sustainably sourced.
Start with the chefs selections for appetizers then try the tortellini with truffles followed by the Charcoal grilled Chateaubriand, homegrown variety of chards, stuffed baby pepper and potato croissant. (you share for 2) purple carrot cake, fruit tart or chocolate mousse for dessert.
Ask for the house specialty after dinner drink, Gargiulo Negroni or the General Managers own spin on the Old Fashioned, of course in addition to the Gargiulo Limoncello…!

The most beautiful restaurant for the second night of our honeymoon. We were collected from our nearby hotel and informed about the restaurant and their philosophy for fresh food all of which is grown on the grounds. The views blew us away as did the food. Vincenzo and his colleagues were so helpful and informative and explained the flavours of the different foods and various wines. Nothing was too much trouble. Thank you for having us :)

Situato sui suggestivi Colli di Fontanelle, all’interno di un resort di recente costruzione, il Ristorante Ortiga è una gemma nascosta della Penisola Sorrentina. Con una vista mozzafiato sul mare di Sorrento, l’ambiente elegante e moderno riflette un perfetto equilibrio tra tradizione e innovazione, grazie al sapiente restauro che ha valorizzato elementi locali come il legno, la pietra di tufo e la ceramica di Vietri.

La cucina, prevalentemente di pesce, è un’esperienza contemporanea, frizzante e divertente, che però non dimentica le radici della terra in cui si trova. Tra i piatti che spiccano per creatività e sapore, il Carpaccio di ricciola marinata agli agrumi, accompagnato da confettura di cavolo viola, vinaigrette al sesamo nero e pestato di prezzemolo, è un’esplosione di sapori che cattura l’essenza del territorio. Altro piatto imperdibile sono le Eliche con peperoncini verdi di fiume, scampi e pomodori dell’orto arrosto, un perfetto connubio tra freschezza e tradizione.

Tutte le verdure e gli ortaggi provengono dall’orto del ristorante, garantendo una qualità e freschezza insuperabili. Il servizio è impeccabile, cortese e attento ad ogni dettaglio, mentre la cantina dei vini offre una selezione eccellente, capace di soddisfare anche i palati più esigenti. Ortiga è un’esperienza culinaria che celebra la tradizione con un tocco di modernità, il tutto in una cornice indimenticabile.

This was a truly special experience. My mom and I came here after a recommendation from someone who worked at our hotel, and we came here for an experience. Well, they truly did not disappoint. We got the food tasting menu with the wine pairing, and it was probably one of the top ten meals of my life. Not only was the food amazing, but the view was just unbeatable!! I highly recommend going here if you want an amazing and unforgettable dinner. Seriously!!!

Abbiamo prenotato in questa nuovissima struttura con l intenzione di trascorrere una bellissima serata all insegna del buon cibo, buon vino, location bellissima, dove simo stati accolti subito dal direttore della struttura Vincenzo, una persona super simpatica e professionale. Entrati all interno della struttura si nota subito un approccio da parte dei proprietarie e dagli operatori del settore un attenzione super sostenibile che si può notare dai materiali dell’arredo utilizzati e dai metodi di lavorazione all interno della cucina.
Noi abbiamo cenato e abbiamo preso un menu degustazione dove non potrò mai dimenticare il merluzzo in carrozza, e i ravioli alla genovese a completare questa magnifica esperienza culinaria, il direttore ci ha ci ha consigliato un abbinamento vino dove abbiamo bevuto vini naturali di altissimo livello.
Ottimo lavoro continuate cosi, in bocca al lupo!

.Super consigliato! L’atmosfera era accogliente. Abbiamo iniziato con un aperitivo sulla Terrazza Champagne, godendo di una vista mozzafiato sulla Penisola Sorrentina. Dopodiché ci siamo accomodati nel Ristorante Ortiga e abbiamo scelto il menù degustazione. I piatti erano tutti preparati con ingredienti freschi direttamente dall’orto, veramente di alta qualità…per non parlare delle creazioni dei piatti. Ci ritorneremo sicuramente.

Went to this restaurant by recommendation from a bartender at our hotel and were not disappointed! We started with a drink on the champagne terrace, which is absolutely beautiful with sweeping views. Dinner was delicious and the bread was to die for. Dessert was also great - we loved that they use ingredients from their gardens on site. Hospitality was impeccable with every detail accounted for, needs exceeded and friendly service. Def give this restaurant a try if you’re looking for something different in Sorrento!

We heard about this new restaurant from a waitress at our hotel after telling her we are foodies and sharing our experiences at two Michelin starred restaurants in the area. At her suggestion we tried this one and were not disappointed. The food on the tasting menu was every bit as good as those other places and we received very attentive and personalized service. The view from their terrace is spectacular and overall it was a magical food experience for our last day in Sorrento.
