We unfortunately didn't get to do the tour due to the weather. But we still had an amazing tasting and lunch. We had started to get "wined-out" at this point in our Italy trip. This tasting turned it around. I recommend going to the Pompeii ruins as soon as they open and then going here for lunch! But make sure to make a reservation.

If you're in the Pompeii area, this is the place to go for lunch! You won't regret it! Great wine, great food and great service. Go for the Pork Belly (it melts in yr mouth!). The wine tasting session is another must!

The staff were very friendly, professional, and accommodating! I really wanted to love this winery, but unfortunately, the experience fell short from start to finish. The tour was brief and didn’t add much value or excitement. My husband and I each chose a different tasting menu and wine flight, and since he has a dairy allergy, we were told he could substitute the tiramisu for the dairy-free dessert from the Ancient Pompeii menu. However, when the dessert came, a waiter asked if it was okay that the cake had powdered milk in it — which, of course, it wasn’t. Not only should staff be aware that powdered milk contains dairy, but allergens should be clearly labeled on the menu as required by law.

When the wine flights arrived, all four wines were placed in front of us at once with no explanation of what they were, their tasting notes, or how they paired with the food. We barely caught their names before the focus immediately shifted to sales — being told to “start building a box of wine to take home.” It felt presumptuous and pushy, especially when we hadn’t even started tasting yet.

When I asked for pricing to purchase just a couple bottles to take with us (instead of shipping), the response was curt and dismissive. I said we’d like to buy two bottles, and the staff member asked if we could make it six. After I repeated that we only wanted two, he never returned. We eventually went to the front ourselves to pay. The service overall felt disorganized and unfriendly.

As for the wine and food — both were disappointing. The wines lacked character, and the food was among the least memorable we’ve had in Italy. Not terrible, but certainly not good either. Overall, a frustrating experience that felt more like a sales pitch than a winery visit.

Our group of 16 friends loved the Bosco d’Medici winery! We had wine tastings and a special lunch in the shade of the pergola vines. The food, wine, and service were excellent. A special thank you to Margarita who not only helped us with our lunch reservations, but also arranged transfers for our group to Amalfi and Puglia. This is a perfect place for wine tasting and lunch after visiting the nearby Pompeii archeological site.

We had a fantastic experience at the vineyard — a perfect blend of beautiful scenery, delicious wine, and warm hospitality.
Our tour began with Virginia, who guided us through the vineyard and shared its rich history with us. She was knowledgeable and passionate, which made the tour both engaging and informative.
Afterwards, we enjoyed a wonderful wine tasting hosted by Maddalena. She brought such great energy to the experience — fun, friendly, and full of insight. She took the time to explain the winemaking process in more detail, answering all our questions and making it a truly enjoyable session for both me and my husband.
The wines were exceptional, each one with its own character, and the food paired with them was absolutely delicious.
This visit was a highlight of our trip — we left with a greater appreciation for the craft and some incredible memories. We would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Una experiencia inolvidable entre viñedos e historia

Nuestra visita a Bosco de’ Medici ha sido sencillamente excepcional. Desde el primer momento nos sentimos acogidos por un equipo amable, profesional y apasionado por su tierra y su vino. La ubicación es insuperable: rodeada de viñedos con vistas al Vesubio y a escasos metros del yacimiento arqueológico de Pompeya, lo que hace que la experiencia tenga un valor cultural y emocional añadido.

El tour por la bodega fue interesante y muy bien guiado, con explicaciones claras sobre la producción de sus vinos y el vínculo con la historia romana. La cata estuvo perfectamente maridada con un menú Km 0 espectacular: embutidos y quesos locales, “cuoppo” frito napolitano, parmigiana de verano, espaguetis con calabacines y provolone y un tiramisú inolvidable. Todo acompañado de 4 vinos de gran personalidad y un espumoso muy refrescante.

Un plan perfecto para amantes del vino, la gastronomía y la historia. Gracias por hacerlo tan especial para nuestra familia. ¡Volveremos sin duda!

Wonderful wine tasting at Bosco de’ Medici! The wines were outstanding and paired with a flavorful multi-course menu. We also had a guided tour of the vineyard beforehand, which was very interesting and informative.

Our sommelier Giuseppe was fantastic – professional, kind, and very passionate about the wines. In fact, all the staff were extremely friendly and created a warm atmosphere. You really notice they enjoy their work. Absolutely worth a visit!

Erg mooie wijnboer, korte rondleiding in en golfkarretje en dan snel aan het eten en drinken. Werkelijk alles is er schitterend, de kwaliteit springt van het hele landgoed af. De tour zou wat uitgebreider kunnen maar het was de moeite waard. Het eten was formidabel en de wijnen waren lekker. Had graag wat laten verschepen maar het aanbod is niet concurrerend met de prijzen als je ze in Nederland koopt.

Very disappointing experience
Visited in mid-August. The heat is understandable, but the place itself felt extremely artificial and overly touristy.

The “historic” tour was meaningless — their claimed connection to the Medici family came down to a small stone with the letter “M” on it. Vineyards were nothing special, barrels were purely decorative. The guide spoke quickly in poor English, making it hard to understand, and seemed uninterested in answering questions.

The tasting included 5 wines, but the serving order was chaotic: rosé poured right before white, then several reds one after another — all while it was 36°C outside, which made no sense at all.

Food was average at best. We tried two set menus (€50 and €80) — nothing stood out, and nothing we’d want to eat again. Service was pushy and inattentive, with staff interrupting constantly and talking over you.

At the end, they aggressively pushed bottle sales — the cheapest bottle was €27, with only a 10% discount if you bought 42 bottles. Overall, the place feels designed purely to squeeze as much money from visitors as possible rather than to offer a genuine winery experience. I cannot recommend it and honestly don’t understand the high ratings.

Well, first off, we have been backpacking through Italy for the past 10 days, so we are completely under dressed, hot, and tired, and everything we have done on our adventures from the south of Sicily to the north and more to come have been off the cuff. So when I say this is a must along your trip, it truly is. I am so glad I randomly picked this place for dinner. All I would say is that it's best to make a reservation, which is usually the case for most establishments. For this case, we called only 30 min ahead, and they completely accommodated us with no issues.

The staff is unbelievably amazing and true professionals. They add to the experience of this place. The ambiance is stunning. Sitting under the trellises makes you truly enjoy your experience. We only came for dinner and wine, and that's what we got. In the video, you have Mateo, the sommelier, giving us a made for Hollywood experience. He was awesome, funny, and professional, and so was everyone else who helped us. We loved our waiter and the hostess. The vegetables are from the winery own garden and the wine food and desert were absolutely wonderful. I give it 5 stars for the overall experience.

I booked a wine tasting, including a lunch + golf car quick tour. It was just amazing! 4 different wines + salami dish + pasta, all are just delicious! The sommelier Giuseppe is very professional and welcoming. You can ask him any question about the wine. And another staff Serena who introduced me the winery with golf car is so friendly too! We came here as part of a Pompei tour to end our day. Mixed emotions I should say. The staff member that welcomed us very nice and friendly, and even gave us a mini tour of the property- which was fantastic!
We then started the wine tasting where we got to try 4 wines. I must say all of them were great, but it was not a wine tasting….. we got poured roughly ~100ml of each wine (all at once) and were left to drink them at our own pace as lunch came out…
The lunch, well, left alot to be desired. We started off with a small charcuterie board, followed by a small plate of pasta and then a small dessert. While everything tasted nice, I wouldnt say it was anything special. The staff and sommelier also lost interest in us quite quickly when they realised we didn’t want to buy a crate of wine to ship out to our home address…. We were literally left by ourselves in the middle of a garden and walked ourselves out when we finished….overall, many things can be improved on.

Esperaba mas de este hermoso lugar. Para el entendido de vinos no es bueno. No saben mucho sobre procesos. La degustación ... sirven todas las copas juntas sin prestar atención a la temperatura con que debe tomarse cada vino.
La comida podría ser mejor ya que estamos en Italia. Fiambre baja calidad, pasta simple con pomodoro.. nada especial. Podrían mejorar con poco.
