Wir haben Julian als Fotograf für unser Hochzeitswochenende in der Toskana ausgewählt, weil wir sofort von seinen Momentaufnahmen begeistert waren – er hat einfach ein unglaubliches Auge für echte, lebendige Szenen. Und genau das hat er bei uns geschafft: Nicht nur wir, sondern auch all unsere Liebsten sind so wunderbar getroffen. Es war eine Freude, später durch die Fotos zu gehen und dadurch auch die vielen kleinen und großen Momente mitzuerleben, die wir selbst gar nicht alle mitbekommen haben.

Julian war für uns außerdem ein absoluter Ruhepol. Man merkt sofort, dass er viel Erfahrung mitbringt und genau weiß, wie so ein Tag abläuft. Er hat uns mit Tat und Rat zur Seite gestanden und uns das Gefühl gegeben, in den besten Händen zu sein. Gleichzeitig hat er sich ganz natürlich in die Gesellschaft eingefügt – alle haben sich in seiner Gegenwart wohlgefühlt.

Besonders beim Couple Shooting hatte ich anfangs die Sorge, dass wir uns nicht entspannen könnten. Doch Julian hat das großartig gemacht: Er hat uns so angeleitet, dass wir einfach nur wir selbst sein konnten, ohne Druck oder Anspannung. Das Ergebnis sind Fotos, die sich echt und vertraut anfühlen – genau so, wie wir uns unseren Hochzeitstag gewünscht haben.

Lieber Julian, danke, dass du diesen besonderen Tag für uns so einzigartig festgehalten hast.

Julian was a DREAM to work with. His photos of our wedding are absolutely stunning. I don't know how 1 man was able capture so much so discretely. He seemed to always know where to aim the camera to capture the best candid reactions, emotions, and moments of our day. My husband and I can also feel a bit awkward in front of a camera, but Julian's direction was incredibly helpful and made us feel so comfortable. Julian photographed our wedding and pre-event (Pizza Party) in August 2024 in Umbria and we could not be happier with how the photos turned out, his professionalism and energy & flexibility during the days and in the preparation as well as his amazing turnaround time! We received so many photos - could choose which ones he would edit and additonally all raw files. His photography style was more documentary and we loved it as we do not like posed pictures! We cannot recommend Julian Kanz more highly. We looked at a lot of photographers but fell in love withJulian's candid shots and ability to capture the moment. We really wanted to have beautiful photos, but we didn't want to spend all day posing or be forced into unnatural cringey shots. With Julian, we almost forgot he was there! We felt no pressure to perform, we got to enjoy our day and we have the most beautiful photos to look back on. Julian was extremely professional and so efficient. While he was a little more expensive than other photographers, he was worth every penny. Probably the best wedding decision we made! Don't hesitate, just book him before it's too late :)

when looking into wedding photography, my husband and I wanted something that was a blend of “a slice of life “the feeling of the day and some traditional photos . As I told Julian when he sent our photos back in such record speed that I don’t know how he managed to capture every single special moment from the day and seemed to be in different places at the same time, he captured some beautiful moments in her ceremony, and I don’t even remember him taking photos there, he was so supportive of us still doing our ceremony outside even though it was drizzling raining and we had a lovely time getting to know him over the day and the video call we had done months prior , julian felt like a part of our group and celebration and is decisive and supportive of what the couple wants. he arrived on time and asked us if we wanted to do an extra hour when the dinner went long . we decided to not spend that extra hour and we were glad as it took us an hour to change and pry everyone away from the gelato to go dance !! Grazie mille Julian ,truly a gem and a fantastic photographer. worth every penny !

Julian's reviews already speak for themselves, but he was the ideal photographer for our wedding at Castello Brown in Portofino this past June. While my husband and I are two people who are not naturals in front of the camera, Julian was nevertheless able to fully capture the beauty and spirit of the day, and we will always cherish the memories and wide range of emotions that his photographs evoke for us.

Julian is world-class and fantastic! He is incredibly talented - so much so that even here in the US the first question everyone has asked is "Who was your photographer? He's incredible." We came to know about Julian’s work through a friend of ours who had used Julian to cover their wedding in the past and we were blown away by how beautiful his photos were. He manages to really understand the bride, groom, and feeling of the entire wedding and somehow captures really beautiful intimate moments. We had a Skype meeting with Julian and were immediately put at ease by how nice, fun, and gentle he is and we could already feel his presence at our wedding would be more like a friend than just a photographer. We discussed what we liked about his work and what caught our eye, and he assured us that throughout the day he would be discreet and work around us. Looking back I can honestly say that the money spent hiring Julian was the best money spent for the entire wedding as we have the most beautiful memories shared by all our guests captured and immortalised in Julian’s work.

Julian recently photographed our wedding in Umbria and from day 1 to today the experience has been brilliant.

You only have to look at his website to realise that Julian is an immensely talented photographer. He brings a proven documentary style, but combines it with a painterly use of colour and shadow to create something that really feels like art.

Julian was easy to deal with at every step. Being in the UK and he in Italy, we communicated via phone, Skype and email before the day so we could discuss everything in detail.

On the day itself, Julian arrived 3 hours before we'd paid him to scope the venue, and begin getting shots. This was invaluable in getting all of our guests relaxed with a photographer around snapping! By the time of the wedding, nobody even noticed him anymore!

Julian and his assistant on the day were incredibly helpful too - helping my wife get into her dress and generally being a pleasure to have around. We had so many comments from our guests about what lovely people they both were.

Finally, the photos. We are over the moon. We just got back the final high-res files yesterday and they are fabulous - a perfect moment of the day, but in a style that looks more like film stills than traditional wedding photography. To say we are happy is an understatement.

Your photographs are the one visual reminder you get to keep from your big day. It's worth spending a bit more to get someone good. Is Julian the cheapest? No, but I wouldn't want him to be. He's a top professional at the top of his game. Book him and you won't regret it.
