Its such a beautiful monastery converted to a hostel... and staff are so friendly & helpful. Great views, breakfast included. Location is a little steep walk but manageable.

What an amazing stay!
This is a huge 13th century building outside of the city, on top of a hill.

You can see the city and beautiful sunsets from the terrace. The staff was incredibly helpful, rooms and communal areas were maintained at a great standard too.

If I ever visit Florence again, I am booking a stay at this place!! ❤️

Such a beautiful place in Florence! I would recommend one night of a stay here for the experience. Beyond that feels a bit much given there is no food around, it's pretty quiet so not much to do there, wifi is hit or miss. The hostel knows they are silo'd so they charge for everything and it's uncharged. They offer a pasta dinner which is around 8 euro a night - it's a nice way to meet folks. There's a bus that takes you to the bottom of the hill so you must walk to and from if you do not have a car (which I did not mind) - however, if you have lots of luggage recommend taking a car. I would also recommend that they look into a shuttle service for folks from the top/bottom, especially given the price per night. Otherwise, good stay and recommend folks experience it at least once.

U need to go here. This was the most amazing time of my life and everyone that was there at the same time as me kept extending their stay! Every night there is a huge fanily pasta dinner where most people from the hostel sit down, chat eat and drink. Its the best time to get to know other people. Then, mist night, everyone goes onto the terrace, talk more, laugh, play games, and get loudly social. And if the amazing social environment wasnt enough the views are impeccable!! U can se all of Florence and the evning sun hits the monestry it the most perfect way! Last night I was there the hostel had a festival and by the end the staff were dancing along side us, i see u Ferdinando 😉. Don’t hesitate, it amazing! Thank u to the amazing staff for making it even better!!!!!!

Room: clean, comfortable. Use mosquito spray.
Toilets & Showers: clean.
Laundry: yes
Lockers: free
Staff: super friendly and helpful. Including the cat.

Social Atmosphere: extremely. Not in a party sense. Shared breakfast and dinner makes it very easy to make friends. Crowd skews hippy-ish and female.

Location: very, very noncentral. About 40 minutes of unreliable bus (23B, not A, can tap to pay) from train station, plus 20 minute walk uphill. I easily hitchhiked the walks. A taxi is like 30 Euros. The downside of the location is that I didn’t explore Florence at night.

Overall: beautiful and social. If you prefer a more relaxing stay at the expense of more easily exploring the city, a great choice. I stayed for 3 nights and have no regrets.

beautiful & amazing place! one of the best or the best hostels. Please don’t worry about the bus stop walk, it is nice and feels safe, the little trek is totally worth it, it feels so great to be out of the city.
The atmosphere here is cozy and warm while still providing a lot of space. Met so many genuine people, staff are very accomodating and pasta night is very lovely.
It’s very clean, the views are so stunning - you see both the city and the Tuscan hills. You will probably meet some very lovely locals too.

This hostel was such a peaceful place out of town! It is a dreamy converted monastery which was such a cool experience! The sunset views are incredible when you're in the garden or on the porch eating the well priced daily pasta dinner with everyone.

I was in a girl's only dorm and there were not any lockers. Towels are available for a fee.

As other people have mentioned, the journey to get there is a bit of a long one. Busses to the town at the base of the hill can be hard to catch from Florence. Twice as I was walking uphill, people offered me rides, which was really nice!

Me and my boyfriend loved our stay here. It’s so beautiful- like seriously the most beautiful view ever. The rooms were comfortable. Warm- but it is August so that was expected. The food was amazing- all fresh. Even offering me a gluten free meal for my diet. Wonderful rejuvenating stay. (I recommend taking a taxi)

Appena si varca la porta, si rimane incantati dall’interno della corte medievale. L’atmosfera storica del luogo ti lascia subito senza parole. La stanza dove ho soggiornato era da due con un bagno privato e una seconda porta che permetteva di accedere direttamente sul giardino comune: pulita, fornita di mini kit per lavarsi, asciugamani e lenzuola, arredata in modo armonioso con lo stile del posto. Il Wi-Fi è a disposizione degli ospiti. Ci sono due grandi sale comuni dove fare colazione o cenare insieme agli altri ospiti (giovani e da tutto il mondo) o meglio ancora in terrazza o in giardino, per godere della meravigliosa vista su tutta Firenze. Il panorama è davvero mozzafiato.
Oltre ad essere meravigliosa la location, ciò che rende il tutto ancora più fantastico è la gentilezza delle persone che ci lavorano! Sono tutti molto disponibili e attenti agli ospiti. La posizione è comoda perché si è a pochi minuti di macchina da Firenze.
Non sarei voluta più andare via!
Ampiamente consigliato per chi vuole trascorrere un soggiorno immerso nella pace e nella Natura.

Bigallo Hostel is hands down the most beautiful place I've ever stayed at! The views are breathtaking, set in a charming historical building that feels like stepping into the past. The staff is warm and welcoming, I felt right at home, surrounded by kind people and a positive vibe throughout my stay. My absolute favourite thing was the way the city of Florence looked like a sea of sparkling stars at night! I will recommend Bigallo Hostel to everyone I know and can't wait to come back. It truly is the best place to stay – an unforgettable experience!

Fuimos como punto base para conocer Florencia, y la verdad es que quedarse en el lugar para descansar despues de un dia agotador es la mejor opcion.||Tiene buen aparcamiento si vas en vehiculo.||Nosotros bajamos al pueblo en coche y cogiamos el autobus 23, que tiene parada a 150 mts de la Catedral de Florencia.||El lugar es ancantador y despertar al dia siguiente y pasear un poco por los jardines antes de desayunar es algo que recordare siempre.||Esta muy limpio y el trato es muy bueno, esfordandose de atenderte en español.

El Hostel es muy interesante. Construe en un monestari. Los habitaciones son limpias. El mirador es perfecto por los photos.es lejos de la ciudad aunque.

Visité Florencia con mi esposa e hijo de 1 año en marzo de 2017. Lo mejor del hotel es su ubicación, ya que está casi en frente del Duomo.||ALgunos puntos en contra:||-Ascensor incómodo, pequeño, y hay que subir al 3er piso para llegar a la recepción.||-Wifi de pago||-Podrian mejorar el desayuno, ya que era bastante pobre.||||En resumen, si lo que quieren es estar ubicados centricamente, es una buena opción.

Reservé una noche porque estaba de paso y acerté de pleno. Emplazamiento increíble con vistas a toda Florencia. Atención exquisita y agradable. Precio inmejorable, muy económico para un lugar tan bello. Repetiré seguro.
