We had the absolute privilege of renting the entirety of Villa La Selva for our wedding this past September, and it exceeded every expectation we had. The property is breathtaking, beautiful, serene, and the perfect setting for such a meaningful celebration. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the peaceful atmosphere and the stunning surroundings. It was everything we envisioned and more.

The staff at Villa La Selva were truly exceptional. Their hospitality, attentiveness, and genuine care ensured that every detail was handled seamlessly throughout our stay. Planning the wedding with the La Selva team was an effortless and enjoyable experience. They were organized, responsive, and deeply committed to bringing our vision to life. Our group of 37 guests stayed for five days, hosting all of our wedding week events on-site, and every moment felt special.

We began the week with a welcome party on the evening of our guests’ arrival, where La Selva provided an incredible spread of fresh pizza, charcuterie, and wine—a great way to kick off the celebrations. In the days that followed, our guests enjoyed the villa’s exceptional amenities, from relaxing at the pools to spending time on the tennis court and gathering at the wine bar, with beautifully planned evening events each night.

One of the most special aspects of our stay was the ability to remain on property while still experiencing a unique setting for every event. The variety of spaces throughout the villa created a dynamic and elevated experience without ever needing to leave. We concluded our time with their wine tour and tasting, which was outstanding, and a private pasta-making class led by one of their partnered chefs—an experience that perfectly capped off an extraordinary week. The memories we created there are truly unforgettable.

Even with five full days, it still didn’t feel like enough time in such an extraordinary place. We are already looking forward to planning our return to this wonderful villa.

We visited Villa La Selva for a wine tasting on April 1st, and it exceeded all expectations. We’ve done tastings all over the world, and this was hands down the best service we’ve ever experienced at a winery—anywhere.

After reaching out on Instagram, they responded almost immediately and helped us book a tasting. Despite a wedding taking place that day, they still accommodated my husband, our 5-month-old baby, and me in their atmospheric wine cellar. The setting was incredibly romantic—candlelit, with a beautifully arranged cheese and charcuterie platter. It was so stunning that my husband genuinely thought I was about to propose to him again! If you're planning an engagement, this place would be absolutely perfect.

Our host, Alice, was an absolute joy. I was shocked to learn she had only been there a month and a half—she was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly professional. She guided us through the wines with ease and even shared her expertise on olive oil when we showed interest.

What stood out to us about Villa La Selva was its international feel and the team’s deep understanding of the kind of guest experience they want to create. Alice speaks English, French, Spanish, and Italian, making her a great fit for a wide range of international visitors. On top of all that, she was so helpful—when our baby needed a diaper change, she quickly helped me find the nearest restroom upstairs.

10/10 experience—and honestly, a big part of that was thanks to Alice. Highly, highly recommend - especially see if you can book with Alice as your host!!

*Updating my review to respond to Lavinia:

The team at Villa La Selva is trying to paint the situation in a different light, so let me write a timeline of events.
- Feb 2025: we reach out to Villa La Selva and ask them to tour the venue for our March trip and state that we are only looking to get married on specific dates in Sept 2026
- March 2025: someone in our family falls very sick and we have to postpone our trip to April, we reschedule our tour for April 7 and Emma agrees to put our dates on hold for a week
- April 1, 2025 7AM ET: Emma tells us that our hold expired (understandably so, they have a 1 week hold) and our dates are taken
- April 2, 2025 12PM ET: I write to Emma and let her know that we understand and to let us know if our dates are available again since again, we are only looking to get married on specific dates in Sept 2026
- April 3, 2025 7AM ET: Emma tells us that our dates are available again! She asks if she should help hold our dates again.
- April 3, 2025 9AM ET: I respond (with enthusiasm!) and ask if she can hold our dates and submit the spouse information sheet.
- April 4, 2025 at 1PM ET: Emma asks if she can hold our dates and states that once we meet in-person on April 7, we can finalize details.
- April 4, 2025 2PM ET: I confirm to hold our dates. I do not get a reply.

We arrived to the venue on Monday, April 7 to discover that Emma never put the hold on the dates as she had stated on April 4. She continued to say (and Lavinia writes in her response) that we could tour the venue for alternative dates but I had stated multiple times throughout our email exchanges that we were looking at specific dates.

The issue is not that the dates got booked, but rather the lack of communication and professionalism. It is their job to let us know if situations change so we can save time (we had flown from NYC and drove more than an hour from Florence) and maybe tour another venue during our trip. Emma also refused to acknowledge wrongdoing and Lavinia has continued to defend her. I understand if the dates got taken, but she had multiple days prior to our visit to let us know. Instead, we got blindsided once we showed up.

Lavinia did reach out to rectify the situation and she offered to reach out to the couple who had booked our dates to ask them to consider other dates. I did not think that this was a good solution considering that the couple had already signed a contract and were probably excited about it. I’m sure the venue is beautiful, but I couldn’t imagine working with a venue who has continued time and time again to conduct business and interact with customers unprofessionally. There are many, many other venues in Tuscany — consider visiting them instead.

TLDR; if you’re looking to plan an event here (especially from the US), be prepared for a lot of communication problems and headache.

It’s been a nightmare communicating with Emma on the La Selva team. She waited until we arrived at the venue for a site inspection to tell us that our dates were no longer available, even though we had previously agreed on a hold. The venue may respond and claim that we didn’t respond in time, but I showed evidence that we responded in a timely manner and our wedding planners agreed that it was very unprofessional.

But the date hold isn’t the main issue, it’s that they waited until we had traveled 1.5+ hrs to the venue to tell us. They didn’t give us any communication and Emma blamed it on the fact that she was “busy.” I can’t imagine planning an event here with this team.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but after attending an intimate wedding at Villa La Selva this past May, I felt I had to share our experience.

My family and I were guests at my cousin's wedding, and from arrival to departure, everything was magical. The estate’s beauty — the rolling hills, vineyards, and stunning interiors... just wow.

It rained a bit on the first day, so we were a little worried. However, they quickly proposed a wine tasting indoors at the barriccai — which was honestly so much fun!

The wedding itself was beyond beautiful, and every moment was filled with joy and laughter. What amazed us even more was the variety of spaces across the estate — from the terrace to the cellar to the gardens. In just three days, it felt like we experienced three different events in three different venues, each with its own charm.

I don’t know if it was because it was our first time in Tuscany, but if everyone in Tuscany is as welcoming and wonderful as they were here, then we seriously want to move here! Every interaction felt genuine, and we were constantly touched by the care and attention put into every single detail.

The intimate setting made us feel like part of a family, and the wines produced on-site were so exceptional that we’ve already placed an order to be shipped to the US — we just couldn’t get enough!

Also, despite last-minute weather changes, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. Villa La Selva hosted our party this summer, and it is not an exaggeration to say that everything was perfect! Thank you endlessly to David, Antonio, Elissa, and Sumeda, along with all other Villa La Selva staff, who executed our weekend flawlessly with our event coordinators and vendors. The property is elegant and well-maintained, and the rooms are grand, clean, and comfortable. We were also able to enjoy all of the excellent facilities, including both pools and the tennis court, and the staff was able to coordinate a very fun wine tasting for everyone in the barricaia. We have memories to last a lifetime and cannot wait to return!

Here for 3 nights for my daughters wedding. Cannot praise it enough. Absolutely beautiful venue (we had exclusive use)
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff who were so efficient and obviously so well trained, but somehow unobtrusive, only there as soon as you needed them. The food was fantastic, we had a lovely breakfast each morning. Pizza and pasta at the white party the night before the wedding, the wedding breakfast and a BBQ the day after and it was all perfect. The table for the wedding meal was set on the drive under the trees and it looked like something out of a fairytale. It was always my son in laws dream to have a tuscan wedding and he said it far exceeded his expectations. I am 70 years old and have been a wedding guest many times but this was easily the most stunning.I usually end a review with at least one little suggestion for improvement but not this time. Well done Villa la Selva!! you are truly first rate.

I recently had my wedding at Villa La Selva and have nothing but amazing things to say about this estate and the staff. We hosted our family and friends for a week and could not be happier. All of the rooms were clean and functioning as expected and all of the common areas were well maintained and absolutely beautiful. Tuscan charm with upgrades to ensure comfort and convenience.

Cristina, the property manager, went above and beyond to make sure that all of the needs of our guests were met during the stay. She is a genuinely sweet person with a true passion for the estate and her guests. We had the pleasure of attending a wine tasting that was also led by Cristina and her knowledge and passion for the the wines was pure and took our experience to the next level. Not to mention, the wines are truly delicious and unique, while being at a reasonable price point.

All of the staff at Villa La Selva took the time to get to know our guests and did everything they could to make our experience the best that it could be. Any requests that we had were met, and if not possible alternatives were offered. The amenities were endless (pools, bocce ball, tennis court) and all of the different areas on the estate allowed our guests to enjoy the property in their own way.

I cannot wait to return to Villa La Selva again one day to experience the beauty and tranquility it has to offer. It truly felt like our home for the week and will always hold a special place in our hearts.

I was recently married here two weeks ago after planning our wedding for over a year. We hired Cristina, the in-house wedding planner and we couldn't have been happier that we did!

Over the course of planning our wedding, I went to Florence/Tuscany two times to meet with Cristina. Once to walk the property and wedding plan, the other for the food tasting. Cristina was diligent, and had a list of trusted vendors ready to go for us to work with. When there were a few vendors we wanted to change, she was accommodating and worked with us to make our day special.

Fast forward to the wedding weekend, I was stressed! We had planned the entire wedding to be outside, and as luck would have it... it rained harder than anyone had ever seen. While I was disappointed because I had planned this wedding in my head to be outside for over a year, Cristina was quick to make changes to ensure we could still have the wedding outside, just in a covered area. While it wasn't what I had pictured, Cristina did everything in her power to ensure I still had a beautiful wedding.

We had a few hiccups along the way because of the rain, but Cristina was there with me the entire time, even when I was crying because I was upset. She was kind, patient, and handled everything with grace.

Not only did we have our wedding day at Villa La Selva, but we also hosted a welcome dinner on Friday for our guests, and a formal brunch on Sunday. Everyone was blown away by the beauty of the grounds, and what all of the vendors were able to create.

I cannot recommend Cristina, this venue, and all of the vendors enough. Everyone was incredible, and I would absolutely get married here all over again! Thank you to everyone for making our wedding weekend a special one - we appreciate you!!

Splendida villa storica del 1400 immersa nella natura e circondata dai vigneti. Abbiamo soggiornato per tre notti meravigliose. Camere dotate di tutti i confort. Chi cerca il relax trova il posto giusto. Tutto perfetto dalla location allo staf. La struttura è provvista di un grande parco e due piscine, su prenotazione di può degustare vini prodotti dagli stessi e affettati e formaggi del territorio.

We had the most incredible experience planning our dream wedding at Villa La Selva! For starters, Cristina was incredibly kind, understanding, and helpful throughout the whole process and absolutely nailed our wedding weekend. Every single detail came together perfectly and she coordinated all of the details and logistics of the wedding weekend with ease and grace! Not to mention that Cristina has several connections with vendors in the area (many of which are her friends), which made the entire process quite easy.

The staff at Villa La Selva took such good care of us and all of our guests for the duration of our stay and we truly couldn't have asked for a more perfect venue and backdrop for our special day! The property is clean, modern and has all of the amenities that you need (bathrooms in every room, two pools, tennis courts and daily breakfast). You also can't overlook the fact that the wine is produced on site (which we served for all of our events), and they make their own scents with the wine which we ended up giving as gifts to our guests and will forever remind us of our wedding.

We were honestly blown away and will be back to visit soon! We can't recommend the venue & staff enough!

I stayed with a group of friends for a fabulous and relaxing break. Marco the owner personally greeted our group to make sure that we had everything we needed for our stay. The properties give you an authentic feel for this part of Italy. Lemon groves and rolling fields of olive green are breathtaking. Although we booked our stay to be self catering on occasion (when we were feeling rather lazy!) the staff helped to arrange a meal to be brought in for us from a wonderful local restaurant. Wonderful views, beautiful pool and the most delicious wine. What else can you ask for......
